چکیده
Kuttanad region in Kerala, India, is a place that predominantly consists of soft soil formations with low shear strength and water resistance rendering them problematic for construction purposes. Pavements constructed on such deposits have been subjected to structural rutting the high erodibility in-situ necessitates need use suitable ground improvement techniques. The present environmental scenario demands implementation sustainable techniques rejuvenation effective stabilizers enhancing engineering properties. This study investigates amelioration using chitosan as amendment improve its durability characteristics. untreated chitosan-treated samples were exposed 5 h wetting cycle followed by 43 drying cycles until their failure. unconfined compressive (UCS) prepared different dosages (0.5, 2, 4%) cured 14, 28, 60, 90 days was evaluated at onset after each measure index. amended 2% withstood five UCS more than 1,000 kPa. drip erosion tests used check performance aforementioned curing periods. 4% resisted entire test duration 10 min indicating highest resistance. findings current through reinforced effectiveness an biopolymer soils constant attack can be easily implemented places vulnerability. A typical earthen canal lining reduced carbon emissions 8.74 7.44 times compared conventional amendments like lime cement Carbon Footprint Analysis.

Biopolymer-Activated Graphitic Carbon Nitride towards a Sustainable Photocathode Material
Photoelectrochemical (PEC) conversion of solar light into chemical fuels is one of the most promising solutions to the challenge of sustainable energy. Graphitic carbon (IV) nitride polymer (g-CN) is an interesting sustainable photocathode material due to low-cost, visible-light sensitivity, and chemical stability up to 500 °C in air. However, grain boundary effects and limited active sites gre...

15 صفحه اولSorption of native polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) to black carbon and amended activated carbon in soil.
Organic pollutants (e.g. polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAH)) strongly sorb to carbonaceous sorbents such as black carbon and activated carbon (BC and AC, respectively). For a creosote-contaminated soil (Sigma15PAH 5500 mg kg(dry weight(dw))(-1)) and an urban soil with moderate PAH content (Sigma15PAH 38 mg kg(dw)(-1)), total organic carbon-water distribution coefficients (K(TOC)) were up to a fact...
